CONVENTION 2022: PACKING ESSENTIALS

We are less than two weeks out from Convention 2022! Are you prepared? If not, don’t worry—we asked some of our Convention experts to share the essentials on their packing lists: 

Comfy shoes

This is the most important. Between walking the Red Carpet and getting dressed up for Feast of Roses, your feet will most likely need a break. Pack a cute, comfy pair of shoes to change into when your feet start to hurt.

Tote bag

Bring a tote bag or larger purse to fit all your Convention goodies into. It’s also great to stash a water bottle, snacks and any other essentials you want to keep with you during the day.

Extra phone chargers

There’s nothing worse than a dead phone battery, especially when you want to take photos. Pack extra phone chargers and keep one in your bag so your phone is always charged. Bring a portable charger as well so you won’t have to worry about finding an outlet!

A light jacket or sweater

Although Louisville summers can get hot, the Convention space is usually cold (take it from longtime Convention attendee, Laurie Vesalo, Omega—University of Akron). Keep a light jacket with you to stay comfortable.

Alpha Gam apparel

You can never go wrong with Alpha Gam! Pack your favorite tees to change into at the end of the day, between events or while you travel.

Badge

This one might seem obvious, but it happens every year—don’t forget your Badge! Small items can be easy to forget, so put this at the top of your list.

Cash

It’s never a bad idea to have a little cash in your wallet while traveling.

Reusable water bottle 

Pack a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated—especially in the summer heat! Keep it in your bag so you can easily refill throughout Convention.

Empty space

Leave some extra room in your bag! You’ll have the chance to fill up on items from the Alpha Gam Boutique and other goodies in the Marketplace at Convention, so make sure you have room in your bag to pack them—especially if you’re flying.

TIP: Pack an emergency kit with items that could save the day in a pinch. You might include: a sewing kit, Band-Aids, safety pins, fashion tape, wrinkle spray, ibuprofen, Tide pens, extra hair pins, a few snacks, mints and a nail file.
