HOW TO MAKE THE MOST OUT OF BID DAY
The following post was written by guest blogger Anna Kerlin, Gamma Phi–Georgia Institute of Technology, former Recruitment Specialist for the Fraternity.
Congratulations! You’ve successfully completed the long days and nights of recruitment.
On Bid Day—the culmination of recruitment and the best part of the recruitment process—your Panhellenic Council hands out bids and you have the opportunity to go to the house/chapter you received a bid from to meet your sisters and other women in your new member class.
Here are a few tips to help you make the most of it:
- Take lots of photos! Bid Day will be one of the most memorable experiences of your sorority experience, so be sure to snap some pics! You will look back on these memories and cherish these photos for years to come. At the same time, don’t live through your phone all day. This is a special day, so it’s important to make memories you will cherish for years to come.
- Try to meet as many women as possible—both in your new member class and the classes of sisters above. Bid Day is essentially a large, fun meet-and-greet. Talk to sisters you didn’t speak to during recruitment and don’t be afraid to ask questions. They want to get to know you!
- Finally, have FUN. This day is meant to celebrate you and the beginning of your sorority experience. Soak up every moment and get ready to have the time of your life in your new sisterhood!
