HERE COMES SANTA CLAUS: MAKING FINALS WEEK A BREEZE
The following post was written by guest blogger, Anna Hall, Gamma Sigma–Troy University.
If Santa is coming soon, you know what that means… finals are coming soon, too! Are you ready? I know I’m not! So, I am here to give a few study tips to help motivate you—and myself—for finals season.
Get organized. You can’t study if you don’t know when your tests are and what material to study. Look at your syllabus and note this important information. I suggest using a binder for each class. Instead of sifting through tons of papers when you’re looking for one study guide, you can just open the binder and find what you need.
Get motivated. Nobody likes to study…unless…I don’t know, you have a photographic memory or something? But, one thing is for sure: you can’t pass your finals without a little motivation. Try thinking about being home with your family, snuggled up with your dog, looking at the gorgeous tree in the living room. Or, you could think about getting fussed at because you didn’t pass. Whatever works for you!
Go to a quiet place. I know for me, living in the Alpha Gam house means there is hardly ever a dull, quiet moment. Go to the library or your favorite coffee shop and hop to it. The earlier you start, the quicker you will be done. You also won’t have to worry about pulling an all-nighter and can get your much-needed beauty rest.
Don’t stress. I know, I know—finals are the absolute WORST, but they are not the end of the world. If you find yourself too stressed out to study, take a break. Go for a walk or grab some food. Just don’t let yourself get overwhelmed!
Follow these simple tips and remember to get motivated, study early and most importantly, do not stress—the holiday season is right around the corner.
Now, crack open that book, Sister!
