SEVEN ‘GRAMMABLE MUST-DOS IN SAN ANTONIO

1. The Alamo

Did you have to watch the movie, The Alamo, in your middle school history class? You can visit this historic landmark of the infamous 1836 battle for Texan independence from Mexico.

 

 

 

 

 

 

2. The River Walk

Walk along the banks of the San Antonio River or catch a ride on a river taxi to explore restaurants, shops, attractions and nightlife.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

3. The Main Plaza

The historic heart of San Antonio, people gather at the Main Plaza to enjoy a variety of entertainment. Be sure to check out the San Fernando Cathedral—the country’s oldest cathedral and beautiful site.

 

 

 

 

 

 

4. La Villita and Market Square

5. San Antonio Missions National Historical Park

For a deeper look in history, visit the San Antonio Missions Historic Park. Built in the 1700s, the Missions were outposts established to spread the Catholic doctrine among Native Americans. The Park includes four out of the five Spanish frontiers: Concepción, San José, San Juan and Espada. The fifth mission, The Alamo, is owned by the State of Texas.

 

 

 

 

 

 

6. Majestic Theatre
